Petryk Lesya, Head of Fields at Gradus Research Company

Volkova Alina, IMPACT Junior assessment officer at an international humanitarian organization
The Department of Sociology gave me the ground and basis for my current sociological career. I have been working in the field of research for 4 years and I understand that the knowledge that we were given at the department is now useful to me in practice and this knowledge helped me pass interviews and find a great dream job. The multifaceted nature of the disciplines made me understand what I like more.

Gladky Vladislav

My name is Vladislav, I am one of the first graduates of the program “Social Data Analytics” of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The program turned out to be quite useful for me and left a good impression. Unfortunately, due to the peculiarities of my employment contract and non-disclosure agreement, I cannot tell much about how much the acquired knowledge and skills help me in my professional activities. But in general, I work somewhere at the intersection of sociology, data analytics, IT support and moderation. I know, it may look quite abstract – but such are the realities of the labor market today, when a worker is required to have a wide range of competencies in different areas. Therefore, I am incredibly pleased that I was able to obtain them during my studies.

Hasanov Vadim
My name is Vadim and I graduated from the “Social Data Analytics” department of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Department of Sociology. Before that, I graduated from the Faculty of Information Technology with a degree in “Systems Engineering”. Therefore, this is my second higher education. After graduating, I want to share my experience of studying this specialty.
Firstly, I really liked the teachers. They always helped and tried to meet the students. They were given the responsible task of creating and providing material for this specialty. And in my humble opinion, they did a good job. The subjects they taught were closely related and complemented each other. That is, in one subject they studied methods that analyze data, and in another they already tried to visualize data using these methods.
Secondly, since I have a technical education, I thought that it would be difficult for me to study in another direction, but I was pleasantly surprised. This course had many technical aspects, such as data visualization and programming. Many programs were demonstrated that help to get results quickly. For example, SPSS for data analysis or Gephi for better data visualization. Thanks to this mixed approach, mastering a new specialty was not a problem. For those who love statistics and analysis of large volumes of data, as well as visualization of this data, I definitely recommend it.

Bilkovsky Sergey Sergiyovych
My name is Sergey and I graduated from the “Social Data Analytics” program at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The general background and educational background are very helpful in my work. I am a self-employed person. I plan to work in the field of data analytics. I can say that the SQL course, analytical and instrumental skills have become important for me. I can recommend the “Social Data Analytics” specialty.

Vinichuk Daryna
A graduate of the Department of Sociology, 23 years old. I have been working in the fashion industry for over 7 years, which became the basis for writing my master’s thesis, dedicated to the analysis of the professional environment in which I directly work. Studying at the Department of Sociology helped me to understand social processes, mechanisms of interaction and the peculiarities of working with people more deeply, and also gave me the opportunity to combine practical experience with an analytical vision. In parallel, I am engaged in poetry and am preparing my own collection of poems for publication.

Bereznyuk Anna
The Department of Sociology became a conscious choice for me as a second education. I already worked in the field of personnel management and was looking for a program that would help me to understand people, conflicts and social processes more deeply.
The training gave me many “insights” that I use every day in my work. And the variety of disciplines helped me to better understand in which direction I want to develop further.
The knowledge I gained is already a significant support in my professional activities, helping me to analyze work conflict situations more deeply, make informed decisions and work with people more effectively. I recommend the Department of Sociology to those who are not looking for formal education, but a truly useful base for working with people, research and social change.
